Breathwork Contraindications
Breathwork results in certain specific physiological changes in the body and can result in intense physical and emotional release. As a precaution, the following conditions are marked as contraindications.

Early pregnancy

Retinal detachment

Glaucoma

High blood pressure (not controlled with medication)

Cardiovascular disease, including angina, previous heart attack or stroke/attacks. Diagnosis of an aneurysm in the brain or abdomen

Uncontrolled thyroid disease and diabetes

Asthma - for mild or wet asthma we can discuss this, please bring an inhaler with you to the session.

Epilepsy

Previous diagnosis of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or a previous psychiatric condition.

Hospitalization for a psychiatric disorder or emotional crisis in the past 10 years.

Any other medical, psychiatric or physical condition that could impair or affect the ability to engage in activities involving intense physical and/or emotional release.
If you are unsure about precautions or contraindications, discuss this with a more experienced breathwork practitioner or trainer. Consult a physician familiar with breathwork.
